The Hatch team just wanted to give a huge “thank you!” for all of the support with the launch of our new Prop Shop; and an extra special thank you to Jenny Ebert from 1. Art Beauty Life who photographed our propped-out studio! At Hatch, we believe everyone needs a little vintage suitcase (or 10) in their life!
Our prop rental company is a unique addition to the event and floral design services that we already offer. Our extensive collection of rustic, modern, salvage, industrial, and garden finds have been creatively curated over the past 10 years. We are very excited to announce the opening of our showroom located at 511 west 25th Studio 305. The showroom is open by appointment only but our stylists will be happy to schedule a time for you to come by to see all the treasures. In the meantime, please visit the website to see some of what the Hatch Prop Shop has to offer. Unique found objects are constantly being brought in and being custom built so make sure to come by to see everything that may not be on the website yet. We are also more then happy to source anything you can come up with.
We spent Saturday doing a wedding at one of our favorite gardens. Wave Hill is a 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades. Its mission is to celebrate the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscapes, to preserve its magnificent views, and to explore human connections to the natural world through programs in horticulture, education and the arts.
Guests had so much fun playing our custom corn hole game along with one of my favorites..Bocce Ball. We made adorable signs planted in wood boxes and styled the escort card table with some of the rustic crates we offer from the Hatch Prop Rental Shop. The Ceremony was decorated with hundreds of romantic roses and perfectly blooming seasonal flowers to match the blush tone bridesmaids dresses. Our favorite part was the reception covered in lush garden arrangements accented with green goblets and charcoal chairs. The professional photos will be here soon but wanted you to catch a glimpse of our pics.
I’m sure it’s no surprise that Hatch LOVES Blue Hill at Stone Barns. We get so excited to spend time at the farm and design with our clients at such a great venue! It was touch and go with the weather this past weekend but last minute the sun came out and made it yet another perfect Blue Hill afternoon for Ann and Ian. There were so many great moments at their wedding but we wanted to start with their ceremony. Once we get the real pics from Robert Sukrachand Photograhy we will be sure to share them. In the meantime, enjoy a few pics I took.
Nelson our production manager/lead designer celebrated his 30th birthday last week with our dear friend Nicky Balestrieri the director of events for Extra Extra. A private dinner party for 100 close friends was held at The Glass Houses with the help of Hatch, Pinch Catering and Confetti System. Check out the candle covered tables we designed to create what would be the perfect backdrop for their colorful friends. Photo by Liz Brown Photography.
We’re always hunting for amazing new inspiration to keep our creative juices going. This year we we spent 4 days in Holland falling in love with tulips. We had an incredible trip getting a private tour at the auctions, running through fields of thousands of blooming tulips and hyacinth and a once every ten year experience at Floriade the world horticultural fair.I highly recommend taking this trip sometime in April so you see everything in bloom. Check out our Facebook page for more of the trip photos.
We were so lucky to have Style Me Pretty highlight Danielle and Jakes wedding last week. Danielle and Jake inspired a perfect wedding infused with rustic elegance and vibrant color. Check out these great pictures captured by Meredith Davenport of Christian Oth Studio. Planning by one of our favorites…Daughter of Design. Click here to check out all the images on SMP.
We’ve had the chance to work on some incredible events but this one was truly one of our favorites. Check out what an amazing fashion designer, a custom built french city and 4000 roses looks like. A huge thank you to Paper Magazine/ Extra Extra Creative for letting us have so much fun doing the floral design and set styling.
A few great pics from the very talented photographers at Turn Loose The Art of the wedding planner event we designed at City Winery. More photos to come but in the meantime enjoy this teaser.
Shawn Connell of Christian Oth Studios is one of those photographers that just gets it. He gets the beauty in the mundane. He sees the perfection in the simple. He knows that the art of “getting ready” is as important as the vows themselves. The moment the bride first sees herself in the mirror, the look on her mother’s face as she sees her little girl. Shawn is genius when it comes to documenting the wedding in all of its moments and this particular celebration, is one of his best. From the stunning style by Hatch Creative Studio, the incredible planning by Annie Lee of Daughter of Design, to the tiny pauses in between where you can literally feel the joy, every last bit of it is simply beautiful. Check out the full gallery at Style Me Pretty.
Come on over next week for some great deals on vases, candle holders and many more fun things. All proceeds will be donated to The American Cancer Society. Hope to see you!
We’ve been waiting for months to share this super unique wedding with you. We are so thankful to Style Me Pretty for high-lighting us today and to our incredibly creative and inspiring couple who let us have so much fun. Here’s a sneak peek…
“When modern meets New York, it’s always a match made in heaven and then when you add in a fabulously creative couple with their own Film Company and design and styling by Hatch Creative Studio, the wedding turns into a total home-run. We’re talking right out of the park, Babe Ruth style. Creativity is bursting from every little inch of this fête, including an amazing installation of paper chains, a flash mob during the ceremony and a cool as can be logo representing the water towers above STUDIO 450 where the festivities took place. Dave Robbins Photography snapped all the goodness from beginning to end and believe me, you’ll want to take a trip to the gallery for the full day. It’s New York at its finest.” Style Me Pretty

Nelson Pitts, center, and colleagues from Hatch Creative Studio prepare to pass out flowers to a same-sex couple outside the City Clerk’s Office in New York on July 24, 2011. Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples across New York State began marrying on Sunday in the culmination of a long battle in the Legislature and a new milestone for gay rights advocates seeking to legalize same-sex marriage across the nation.
